What is the Optimal Water Flow Rate?

Water pressure should be approximately between 350kPa and 500kPa at the fixture or tapware, however the way to achieve this for each site will vary according to demand. This range ensures adequate flow without risking damage to your plumbing system.

Problems with High or Low Water Pressure

Either extreme can cause major issues such as appliance, fixture and faucet damage, pipe leaks, water wastage, and reduced fixture performance. Troubleshooting and understanding the causes such as inadequate source flow, faulty regulators or blockages is key to resolving these problems.

Improving Water Flow Rate

There is a variety of ways we can help. If your water pressure is too high, we may recommend pressure regulators or flow restrictors, or adjust the pressure value. If your water pressure is too low, we may check plumbing, clear sediment from pipes, add in pressure booster pumps, or recommend converting from low to mains pressure to increase water flow rate.

Water Audits & Reports

Did you know Topline can provide a water audit to check the water pressure and temperature of your commercial property. Being proactive can save time and money in the future by identifying issues before they fail and cause disruption. For example, a minor tweak, adjustment, or part replacement may be the only thing required to ensure your water system is operating optimally.

What Topline can offer you

  • Pressure testing at multiple outlets
  • Troubleshooting to identify source of issues
  • Adjustments as required

Replacements or Upgrades

Get in touch now

We also offer expert advice if your system needs replacing or upgrading. We can recommend, supply and install a system to meet the demands your property requires for water pressure.

  • We supply & install customised water pressure solutions
  • Converting from low to mains pressure

Water pressure requirements will vary from site to site with factors such as system set up, pipe size, height of building, booster pumps and pressure restrictors all impacting the final output pressure. Probably the most important factor is the water pressure load demand required for each property – how many taps or appliances need to be drawing and outputting water at the same time.

Types of Water Pressure

  • Mains Water Pressure
Strong consistent pressure sourced directly from mains water supply
  • Unequal Water Pressure
Strong mains pressure cold water paired with a low pressure hot water system providing a low pressure hot water supply
  • Equal Low Water Pressure
A consistent but low pressure that may not meet the demands of a commercial environment

Upgrading from Low Pressure to Mains Pressure

If you are currently relying on low pressure, upgrading to mains pressure can significantly improve water flow and performance. Our team specialises in seamless transitions to mains pressure systems.
