After talking to Mico Bathrooms to investigate what bathroomware was available in the New Zealand market, Topline Trade Services clients decided on a chic yet natural studio/ensuite bathroom design.
The vision was simple yet sophisticated and utilised some of the latest bathroom technology including top-of-the-line shower slide complete with multi-setting massaging shower head from Hansgrohe. The design needed to complement the elegance and simplicity of the planned renovation of the guest suite in their Auckland home. As this is the second bathroom and guest suite, Topline Trade Services team worked with the clients whilst coordinating the full project management of the bathroom to reduce the impact of the renovation on the family.
The design included new features such as a ventilated VELUX skylight that serves the dual purpose of letting in more natural light while expunging steam and moisture from the bathroom. Skylights in a bathroom are also an excellent option to increase the security of your property as you can leave them open without risk of attracting unwanted criminal attention.
The shower from Euroglass features custom colour-tinted frameless glass screens that match and complement the Resene painted walls. These screens are fantastically easy to keep clean and are coated with a special coating that repels grime. Built to last, they are scratch resistant to maintain their simple beauty for years. The 1000mm x 1000mm Bette porcelain-on-steel low profile shower tray blends seamlessly with the Canadian Ash KAHRS timber flooring. The client specifically chose the natural timber flooring to give the bathroom a more classic look and warm feel, not to mention to avoid the maintenance requirements of a tile and grout floor and wall combination.
An Italian Designa ceramic all-in-one vanity unit with its beautiful classic lines works perfectly in the space, and with various options for shelving and cupboards, our clients were spoiled for choice. They opted for a single shelf as befits the concept for the bathroom style – that of an upmarket hotel. With this in mind, our client chose a mixer with an elevated nozzle to make it easier for guests to fill water bottles or the like while staying.
The Close-couple toilet suite, although a necessity, is so understatedly elegant it melds with the background in subtle neutrality. They also had the Topline Trade Services team install a heater and an extraction fan to ensure the warmth and dryness of the bathroom for the benefit and comfort of guests as well as to maintain the integrity of the home.
And the pièce de résistance, a bespoke mirror custom designed to match the Designa vanity, set out from the wall and lit with soft LED back lights to enhance the relaxed, natural ambience of the aesthetic.
